Eighth grade students recently participated in The Reality Store. This is a program that assists students in thinking about their futures. The Reality Store requires collaboration among many community members. Students receive a monthly salary (based on their career goal), and then they travel around to various booths set up to represent monthly expenses. The expenses include: insurance, vehicle payment, Uncle Sam (taxes), childcare, food, clothing, investments, and many other areas. The students had a great time and had the opportunity to experience what their life will be like in the future. We are very thankful for all agencies and individuals who assisted in making this program a success! A big thanks goes out to 4-H, Franklin Bank and Trust, and the Simpson County Extension Office for organizing and sponsoring the event.
